Do you ever feel like your house is never clean? You can't find anything and it seems like you're always running out of time to do the things that need to be done around the house. It's not uncommon for people to spend hours cleaning their homes, but then still have a feeling that they didn't get everything done. This post will teach you efficient ways to clean your home in order to save time and energy.

Cleaning a home is not just about throwing everything into the corner of the room and running around to pick it up later. It's important to be efficient when you're doing your chores so that at the end of it, you feel satisfied with what was accomplished and don't feel like there's more work left than there should be.

1. Break it Down

First of all, when you're cleaning, it's important to break things down into categories and prioritize what needs to get done first so that there aren't any surprises later on in the day. For example: if laundry isn't your strong suit or you don't like doing it very much because it seems time-consuming and tedious, then perhaps you should do the laundry before doing other chores. So wait until that's done or at least mostly completed, and then work on something else.

2. Create a Schedule

Pick a day and time that works for you every week so that there are no surprises or forgetting important days such as garbage day, laundry day, etc. Follow a schedule when it comes to cleaning out the fridge and doing dishes. Get into a habit where you do one or the other every day so that it doesn't pile up.

3. Time it Out

Use a timer when you're cleaning to help stay on track and efficient. For example, if you set a timer for 30 minutes and start dusting, at the end of those 30 minutes you can stop and move onto something else rather than having to keep going for another 30 minutes if you don't want to.

4. Clean As You Go

Clean as you go, throughout your day. If there's spaghetti sauce splattered on the stove, wipe it off while your pasta is boiling rather than waiting until after dinner and having a huge mess to clean up then. Whenever food/messes are created in the kitchen, be sure that they're cleaned up right away so that there aren't any extra chores to do later on.

5. The 20/30/40 Rule

Follow the 20/30/40 rule: for every new room or area, you enter, spend no more than 20 minutes in it before moving onto something else and coming back to clean up whatever is left. For example, if you're cleaning your bedroom and get to the point where you're ready to vacuum, spend no more than 20 minutes vacuuming and then move onto the living room. come back later and finish up in your bedroom. This will help keep you on track so that you're not spending all day cleaning one single room.

Keeping it Simple

Most of all, keep it simple and don't overcomplicate the process to ensure that you can clean efficiently.
